Materials and procedures for instruction of beginning piano students in both private and group settings. Lesson planning and observation.

Students will learn the skills necessary for desktop music production in both live and recorded environments. Topics include midi controllers, audio warping, beat making, using Push, and using live virtual instruments.

May Be repeated once for credit. Practice in writing songs (both words and music), in genre(s). Students must be able to perform their songs in a live setting.

Advanced ear training and aesthetic awareness for recording engineers. Students will actively listen to and analyze a wide variety of classic recordings from a multitude of genres. Specialized ear training techniques will be introduced to aid in creating additional means for expressing communication of aural concepts.
