LIFE 110 Students are required to meet the additional hours with instructor/professor outside of this designated time.

Experience in applying various reading instructional strategies and approaches, reflective of balanced literacy; employing informal assessment techniques; and using varied reading texts in grades 1-6.

Diagnostic-prescriptive methods. Emphasis on individual learning levels and styles. Field work with children.

Comprehensive survey of literacy teaching strategies, formal and informal assessments, curriculum materials, and theories. Focus on evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized literacy lessons/tutoring plans for children with literacy difficulties. Tutoring Practicum required.
