Introduction to personal challenges and competencies critical for effective leadership. Cadets learn personal development life skills such as critical thinking, performance and resilience enhancement, the importance of the communications process, and the development of essential skills for effective communication in the Army. Cadets will learn the basics of squad-level tactics reinforced during a weekly lab facilitated by MS III Cadets, supervised by MS IVs and Cadre.

Advanced study, practice, and application of direct-level leadership and small unit tactics fundamentals at the platoon level. Includes successful planning, coordinating, navigating, motivating, and leading a platoon in the execution of a mission. Weekly lab facilitation by peer MS III, overseen by MS IVs, and supervised by ROTC cadre.

Leadership decision making skills involving analytical techniques, creative thinking, and the Army problem solving process. Cadet understanding of Army Doctrine and Symbology lead by TLPs and OPORD. Squad tactics covered on Unified Land, Offensive, and Defensive Operations. Application of knowledge outside the classroom in hands-on performance-oriented environment during a weekly lab facilitated by MSL III Cadets and supervised by cadre.
