Analysis of the musculoskeletal system includes joint actions; origins, insertions, actions, and innervations of muscles; and neuromuscular control aspects necessary for functional movement. Research methods course aimed at healthcare students incorporating applied statistics into current evidence-based medicine. This course is designed for students to build a PICO question; analyze qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods studies; assessing the outcomes of studies; and modifying the care plan based off of evidence.

Integration of evidence-based medicine into the clinical setting. Focus on competency-based skills related to clinical decision making, plan of care from initial diagnosis to return to play, prevention plans for common injuries and illnesses, and communication of the sports medicine team. During this class, students will, also, focus on preparing for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination.

Focus on developing PCIO questions, conducting a literature review, integrating research into clinical practice, assessing data to modify plan of care, decision making based off EBP, components of EBP, and IOM's Core Competencies for the healthcare provider.

Explores therapeutic intervention techniques for lower extremity injuries, with a focus on evidence-based rehabilitation strategies. Students will gain hands-on experience in assessment, treatment planning, and the application of modalities such as manual therapy and corrective exercises. In addition, the course covers the principles and applications of electrical stimulation techniques. Emphasis will be placed on clinical decision-making, patient outcomes, and the integration of these modalities into comprehensive athletic training care plans.
